WYDOT plows get new names from Moorcroft's fifth graders

The WYDOT Moorcroft location partnered with the Moorcroft 5th grade classes to name five of their snowplows. The names that were chosen were Blizzard Boss, Polar Patrol, Taylor Drift, Crys-tal Cruiser and Brutis.

During the fifth graders' visit to WYDOT on January 15, they learned about WYDOT operations, how snowplows work, what "don't crowd the plow" means and how important WYDOT is to the public.

The main topic discussed was how WYDOT's operations help the traveling public safety. This led to a discussion on the operations and projects that involve state roads.

The fifth graders got to explore the snowplows and learned how they operate. The students got to turn on the snowplow lights, see how the plow moves and see how the sanders work.
