The Wolves wrestling team traveled to Hettinger, North Dakota this past weekend to compete in the Hettinger Classic tournament wrestling against 13 teams. There they placed second below first place Sturgis Brown and above third place Bowman-Beach.
The team had three in the finals and many in the placing rounds. Individual placers were:
Champions: Dayne Humes went 7-0, making it into the semifinals where he won with a pin in 5:38 to advance into the finals. There he won by decision 6-3 to place first. Oliver Gorsuch went 7-0 making his way into the finals where he won by major decision 16-7 to take the championship.
2nd place: Braydnn Terry went 5-0 in the bracket pool to make into the semifinals where he won by major decision 14-0. In the finals, he fought a tough match losing by decision to place second.
3rd place: Kade Haynes went 4-1 in the bracket pool to make it into the semifinals. There he lost to move into the placings where he won by tech fall 19-4 to place third. Elyott Gorsuch went 3-3 to advance into the finals where he won to place third.
4th place: Brady Garoutte.
5th place: Riley DeHaven.
6th place: Danner Wiseman, Trenten Gray.
7th place: Kyler Summers, Chayce Buckner.
8th place: Weston Haskell, Jacob Anderson.

5th place: Nathan Grant
As a team, the Wolves scored 201.5 team points with 17 wrestlers. In individual stats for the tournament, Kade Haynes placed 3rd for having the most tech falls in the least amount of time with four in 18:14, Alex Haskell placed 3rd for the fastest fall in :20, and Chayce Buckner placed 2nd for having the most single match points with 24 and Trenten Gray placed 4th with 21 points.
High scorers for the Wolves were Oliver Gorsuch with 38.5 team points followed by Dayne Humes with 38 and Braydnn Terry with 27.
The Lady Wolves wrestling team also competed in the Hettinger Classic girl's division, placing 6th out of 12 teams with nine wrestlers. Individual results were:
3rd place: Liberty Cook went 3-2 making her way into the placing matches where she won by major decision 16-6 to place third. Tessa Farnsworth went 3-2 winning all her matches with pins to advance into the placing match where she won with a pin in 1:25 to place third. Krizma Delfino 3-2, advanced into the placings match where she won with a pin in 2:21 to place third.
4th place: Ali Harr, Sydney Rozell.
5th place: Daytona Hannah.
6th place: Mary Anderson, Nadia Harding.
7th place: Naomi Anderson.
The girls placed sixth with 82.5 team points. In individual stats for the tournament, Nadia Harding placed second for the fastest fall in :14 seconds and Liberty Cook placed third for having the most single match points with 18.
High scorers for the wolves were Tessa Farnsworth with 15 team points followed by Liberty Cook with 13.5 and Krizma Delfino with 13.
Next up for the Wolves wrestling team is the Cowboy Invitational tournament in Miles City, Montana this Friday and Saturday for the boys and the girls will be competing at the Clash at the Crossroads tournament in Shoshoni.
