Firefighters train to teach their crews

Training season begins for local volunteers

Moorcroft and Pine Haven firefighters have started their year with lifesaving trainings. The skills they learned at these training courses will help them save lives when the need arises.

The weekend of January 4 and 5, Moorcroft firefighters Thomas Muhlbauer, Justin Thomas and Steve Miller went to Riverton to train on advanced auto extrication. During this training, these firefighters learned how to get a trapped person out of a vehicle by using lifesaving equipment.

Pine Haven will also be attending trainings in the near future. They plan to go to Cody for training and to host their own ice rescue when the weather is appropriate.

These individuals will teach their fellow firefighters the skills they learned and provide them with new techniques to keep everyone safe.
