Kathy Braunagel, 73, of Pine Haven, Wyoming, formally of Gillette, Wyoming, moved on to her new home in Heaven on Monday, December 30, 2024, while at UCHealth Anschutz in Denver, Colorado surrounded by her family. Kathy was a beloved wife, mother and friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her.
Kathy was born to Alvin and Martha Abell on November 28, 1951, in Wishek, North Dakota and grew up in Linton, North Dakota.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 40 years, Timothy Braunagel of Pine Haven; her children, Shannon Braunagel of Moorcroft, Wyoming and Kari Kivisto of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandson, Brayden Kivisto of Cheyenne.
Kathy had seven siblings, Shirley Human, Tim Abell, Darlene Umber, Karen Edwards, Cindy Quittschreiber, Jim Abell and Rob Abell.
Kathy's family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a loyal, supportive and loving life partner to her adoring husband Tim and a loving and caring mother who always provided support and guidance to her children and family.
For work, Kathy cleaned houses for local families most of her life. She loved being in the mountains riding ATVs, snowmobiling, hiking, walking and wood burning with her family.
Side by side with her husband and family, they built two cabins and a wonderful life in the Big Horn Mountains. She had a green thumb and loved to grow flowers and vegetables so she could do her canning of vegetables every fall. She also enjoyed spending time outside in her backyard while watching wildlife.
Kathy's Celebration of Life will be held on February 1, 2025, 2 p.m. at New Life Church, located at 1000 Commanche Ave Gillette, WY. Reception to follow immediately at the church with hors d'oeuvres. (There will be no graveside service)
