Mrs. Claus will visit the library on Mon., Dec. 23. She has been working hard preparing treats to be given out to youth ages 12 and under. Stop in between 2-4 p.m.!
Library staff have often discussed the need for some type of computer classes for our community as we often have patrons requesting help with cell phones, computers, tablets, printing, etc. We are excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant that will provide us the necessary tools to begin offering digital learning courses!
Crook County Library System is among over 100 public libraries nationwide awarded funding by the Public Library Association (PLA) to increase digital literacy using Digitallearn.org resources, powered by a generous $2.7 million contribution from AT&T. The PLA Digital Literacy Workshop Incentive and the new PLA Digital Navigator Workshop Incentive support public libraries in their work of improving basic digital skills among families and communities. The workshops will utilize DigitalLearn training materials, created in collaboration with AT&T, that are freely available to anyone through DigitalLearn.org and AT&T ScreenReady.
Look for more information in early 2025 regarding courses on topics such as: Internet Basics, Video Conferencing Basics, Cybersecurity Basics, Email Basics, Computer Basics (Windows 10), Computer Basics (macOS 11), Mobile Device Basics (Android), Mobile Device Basics (iOS).
