During the monthly council meeting on December 10, the Pine Haven Town Council approved the variance request from TMG Investments LLC for Horizon Tower LLC to put a cell tower in their RV park.
Present at the council meeting were Horizon tower representatives Josh Leonard, Mike Mateson, Trevor Crow, an independent RF engineer consultant, Steven Kennedy and TJ and Mandi Gideon, owners of TMG Investments.
During the meeting, RF engineer Steven Kennedy provided a slideshow of information and diagrams to display the function of the tower. Kennedy also informed the council and attendees about the coverage of service in different areas of the town.
The planning and zoning commission recommended the council to allow the installation of the Horizon Communications tower back in November with certain conditions being met.
The conditions that were accepted for the tower were a legal review paid by owners of the project, paint color of the tower, antennas the same color, EMS repeater with no charge, Horizon Tower defends from injuries and liabilities, if abandoned the town will be notified, permits and utility locations required prior to construction, carriers will need their own permits, RF qualifications will be provided, bond or charity with the town, noise results and the town can stop work to ensure compliance.
