Dec. 9-15
On Dec. 12 while on patrol, an officer was alerted by radar that a vehicle behind them was speeding. The officer pulled the driver over and noticed signs that the individual might have been drinking. After conducting an evaluation and administering appropriate tests, the officer concluded that the driver was intoxicated and arrested them for DUI. Nothing further at this time.
On Dec. 13 an officer was called to the high school because multiple students were caught vaping by staff. The vaping devices were confiscated, and the individuals received a citation for Minor in Possession. Nothing further.
On Dec. 13 an officer responded to a theft report concerning a FedEx package. The individual informed the officer that they had tracked the package on their phone and saw that it was marked as delivered with a signature. This person had previously experienced issues with packages being misdelivered to a different address but could not confirm with anyone at that location whether they had received the package. On Dec. 14, the package was discovered at a business that was unaware it had received a delivery meant for someone else. Nothing further.
On Dec. 14 an officer was dispatched to assist Moorcroft EMS with a report of an individual who had lost consciousness. Upon arrival, the individual was awake and talking. However, they refused medical services, and both the officer and EMS personnel cleared the scene. Nothing further.
On Dec. 14 an officer arrived to assist EMS with an individual feeling dizzy. The individual declined transport, and the officer then cleared the scene.
On Dec. 14 a concerned individual contacted an officer regarding a juvenile they were visiting. The individual noted that the juvenile was not behaving like their usual self and had requested to speak privately. During their conversation, the juvenile expressed feelings of constant pressure to clean and take care of others without having any time for themselves. Although the juvenile was not available to speak with the officer, the incident was documented. Nothing further at this time.
On Dec. 13 officers cleaned out the lost and found. Check out the Moorcroft Police Department Facebook page to see if any of the items are yours! Lost items include phones, keys, a helmet, a couple of backpacks, and some pieces of jewelry. Any Item not retrieved from the Moorcroft Police Department by January 10, 2025, will be disposed of.
