The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
On November 26, Grace Moore officially retired from the reporter position at the Moorcroft Leader. Moore started working for the paper in August of 2012.
Moore says her most memorable moments are when she won an award from the Wyoming Press Association in 2016 for an unbiased government story and, in the following year, she won the same award.
Then, in 2022, Moore won another award, this time for photography. The picture that Moore captured was of fireworks over Keyhole on the Fourth of July.
Moore stated, "I have had the privilege of watching different people try to help their communities, improve their infrastructure and recreational activities in parks, to build up the quality of life for residents."
"We will miss Grace very much, she has been an invaluable part of the team for many years and has worked so hard to keep our readers informed. Her dedication, enthusiasm and ready smile have made her a pleasure to work with," says Sarah Pridgeon, Editor.
Even though Moore has recently retired, she has plans for her future. She is currently spending time exploring unfamiliar trails with her dog, Ben.
Pridgeon also stated, "Though it's a sad moment as Grace leaves us, we're also very excited to welcome Tia Cranston to the team. She comes to us with strong ties to the community and understanding of what makes it tick, and we know she's going to do us all proud."
