Mrs. Nelson’s Kindergarten class tells us how to cook a turkey!
Addisyn Critel: You find a turkey and get all the dirtiness out and the feathers off. You put it on the stove and bake it. You bake it for 7 minutes, maybe 6 minutes. Now you eat it.
Benjamin Swaney: Put meat stuff on it. Put it in the oven and cook it on six hot. Now eat it with a fork.
Ember Williamson: Put it in a pot, add hot water. Add salt and pepper. Smush it. Cook it on the stove for 2 minutes. Make your plates and eat the turkey.
Etly Swaney: It cooks for however long it takes, usually 10 minutes. Next, put it on a plate and then they put it on their own plate.
Hanna Riddle: You put it in a pan. You add some salt, sugar and powder. Mix it up. Now bake it. Bake it for 50 minutes. Now you can eat it.
Jax Blakeman: You put soil on the turkey. You put it in the oven, bake it for a lot of time. Now you can try it.
Kenton Roberts: I don’t really know how to cook one. Cut it. Put it in the crockpot. Add some spices to the crockpot, just spices. Cook it for like an hour. Take it out and now you can eat it.
Louis Sasse: You can shoot it, then bring it home. Cut out all the meat, then you cook it. Cook it in the dehydrator or you can cook it in the oven. Cook it for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Then put it at the table and set the table up. Then eat it.
Rowe Massie: Put some stuff in there with it. Add some salt and beef and then add some sugar and that is all. You put it in the oven. Cook it for 10 seconds. Then eat it.
Safire Amende: I put it on the stove. I cut in half and I put it in a pot. I put salt and some chicken and that is it. I cook it for thirty minutes. We put it on the table now and then we eat it.
Sawyer Waters: Put it in the oven. Add salt and pepper to the turkey. Bake the turkey for 20 minutes. Now eat it.
ShiLynn Coen: You probably catch it with a giant net before you cook it. Head home, then cook it. Slice it up and put it on the pan, then viola a turkey.
Yates Lang: You shoot it and then you put it in the oven. Maybe chop it up like pork chops and put it on a tray. Cook it for 10 minutes. After it bakes, put it on the table. When your friends come over you can eat it.
My Thanksgiving Dinner

Brinley Lipka: I would get a turkey from the store. It would weigh five pounds. I’d bring it home and cook it for ten minutes at a temperature of 33 degrees. It would be seasoned with salt and pepper. I’d cook it in the microwave. With my turkey I’d eat yogurt, cookies and pickles.
Drew Watson: I am not having turkey. I’ll have pumpkin for Thanksgiving. I’ll carve a pumpkin, then cook it. I will season it with pumpkin pie spices. I’ll cook it in a pie pan in the oven. It will cook for ten minutes at a temperature of five degrees. I will set a timer for when it’s done. I don’t know what else I’d have with it.
ElJay Troyer: I could get a turkey from my barn. I’d take the feathers off and cook it. I’d cook it in a pot by itself on top of the stove for 15 minutes on hot. I’d season it with Lawry’s seasoning. I’d set a timer for when it’s done. When it’s done, I’d eat it with a fork.
Jayden Blakeman: I’d get a turkey on the sidewalk if it’s walking. Then, I’d shoot it and cook it in a pan on the stove. It would cook for five minutes at temperature two. I would put salt on it. It’s done when the timer beeps. I’d have pickles, strawberries and raspberries with my turkey for dinner.
Gannon Brickley: I’m going to shoot a turkey after I find it in the middle of nowhere. Then, I’m gonna bring it home, chop it in half and put it in the oven. I’d put grease and salt on it before I cook it for five minutes at 20 degrees. I’ll eat it after I chop it into little pieces.
Kennedi Smith: Sometimes I get my turkey at the store and sometimes I get it at the woods. I think I’d just try to get it at the store if they have it at the store this year. I’ll take it home and cook it in a big pan. I put salt on it sometimes, and sometimes pepper too. It cooks for 30 seconds, but sometimes I have to ask my mom because she usually cooks it. Usually it cooks on really warm. When I hear the beeping, it’s done. I would print out a Thanksgiving turkey and draw it. Sometimes I eat pickles and carrots with my turkey.
Marcus Braaton: I’d get my turkey from the forest when I go hunting for Thanksgiving dinner. I’d cook it at my house. I’d put sauces and seasoning on it. I’d cook it in the oven for a few minutes at middle temperature. When the oven beeps, I’d know it is done. Then I’d eat it.
Milo Johnson: I will have to catch a turkey. I put it in the oven for ten minutes at eight degrees to cook it. Then I put it in the fridge and wait to eat it. When I take it out of the fridge I will cut it up and eat it with a fork. There will be a cornucopia on the table with food in it. I’ll have drinks too.
Rhett Miller: I’ll buy the turkey at a grocery store. I would take the bag off, then cut it with a knife. I’ll cook it in the oven for 50 seconds at 50 degrees. It’s in a square pan with spicy seasoning and sauce on it. I will take it out of the oven with a glove, then I’ll put it on the table to sit for a while. I will eat it on a plate after that.
Rodd Williamson: I would get a turkey from the store called Smith’s. I’d put it in a pot and cook it. I’d season it with pepper. I’d cook it on top of the stove. It would cook for 50 minutes on hot. I’d know it’s done when the timer went off on the stove. When it’s done, I’d cut it up and eat it.
Ruby Minton: I will shoot the turkey. I’d take it inside to the stove and put it in the pot. Then I’ll cook it in the oven on ten degrees for 40 minutes. I’ll pull it out of the oven using gloves, then put it on top of the stove. I will cut it with a knife, get a fork, and eat it for November Thanksgiving. I would eat it with tater tots. I would also drink apple cider with it.
Traylin Curr: I’ll catch a turkey with my hands by my house. Then I’ll take it to my house and pull all the feathers out of it. I’ll cook it in the oven for two minutes at middle temperature. I’ll eat the turkey with a fork for Thanksgiving with beans and corn.
Waylon Fear: I would not have turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I have never tried turkey before. I would have spaghetti. I’d put the spaghetti in a pan and add sauce. It would cook for five minutes. The microwave will beep when it’s done. Then I’d eat it.
Turkey Interviews with Kindergarten in Mrs. Bishop’s Class
Thomas Webb: I will get my turkey from hunting. I will go hunting by my grandpa’s house with my whole family and maybe some of my grandparents. Then we would cook the turkey in the oven. We would cook it for like ten minutes. The oven should be one-hundred degrees. After we cook it we would put yummy salt on it. I would put it in the fridge until it’s Thanksgiving.
Zachary Nelson: I will probably get my turkey from Walmart. It will cost probably like $20. I bring it home and then unwrap it. I cook it in the oven for ten minutes at ten degrees. My mom and dad will cut it up and then put it on a plate. Then we eat it. It will probably taste good. After we eat we clean up.
Marcelle Norris: My family will get a turkey from the mountains. My dad is going to shoot it. Then we will bring it down to our house and take off the feathers. We put salt and pepper on it. My mom will cook the turkey in our oven for thirteen minutes. The oven should be nineteen degrees. Then she takes it out of the oven and gets ready. She will put it on plates and bring them to the table. Our whole family eats it.
Santiago “Tiggy” Whisler: My mom and dad will get the turkey from Walmart. It will cost $40. They go home and put it on a pan with salt and barbeque sauce. Then they cook it in the oven for thirty minutes at twenty-hundred degrees. They take it out of the oven and cool it off. First, we eat the legs. We also eat pickle wraps. My mom cuts the turkey and we eat pieces of it. We drink fruit punch with our turkey.
Traeson Roberts: I will get my turkey from my grandma if she has one. If she doesn’t have one I will probably buy a real one from the turkey store. It will cost $6. Then we bring it home and kill it. Then we will put salt and pepper on it. I cook it in the oven for forty-two hours. The oven has to be hot and should be as hot as it can get. My mom takes it out of the oven and cuts it up. Then we eat the turkey with spaghetti and meatballs.
Eiley Williamson: I would get my turkey from the trees. I would shoot it. Then I will take the feathers off. I would take it home. Then I would cook it in the oven for ten minutes. The oven will have to be hot, like four degrees. My mom will take it out of the oven and she cuts it up. Then we all eat it. We drink milk with our turkey.
Elijah Miller: I will get my turkey from Walmart. It will cost $7. After I buy my turkey, we take it home. Then we season it with salt and pepper. We put a little butter on it too. Maybe we will add some soup with it. Then I cook my turkey in the oven for ten hours. The oven does not have to be that hot, maybe a temperature of ten. My mom or dad will take it out of the oven and cut it up. Then we all eat it.
Wyatt Grant: I will get a turkey from Moorcroft, like in a store. It will cost maybe $50. Then we bring it home. I cook it in the oven for twenty minutes. The oven should be seventy degrees. It gets so yummy. My momma takes it out of the oven and breaks it into pieces. Then we eat it with cheese sticks and chocolate milk. Then I help clean up.
Sutton Williamson: I will buy the turkey from the store. We will get it from Dollar General and it will cost $9. Then we take it home to my house. My mom and dad cook the turkey. They will cook it on the grill. The grill needs to be hot. It should be seven degrees. They cook it for nine minutes. Then my dad cuts it up and he puts salt and pepper on it. Then he peels off the skin and throws it away. My family eats the turkey.
Mila Swaney: I will get a turkey from the turkey store. It will be $100. Then we bring it home in a bag. First, we have to take the feathers off. Then we put garlic seasoning on it. We cook it in the oven at ten degrees. We cook the turkey for six minutes. My dad takes it out of the oven and he cuts it up. Then my family eats the turkey. We eat chicken nuggets too.
Rowan Spencer: I will get my turkey from my chicken coop. Someone will just blast it, probably my dad. Then he rips off all the feathers and skin. He puts one billion salt on it. Then I will get so much salt in me. He puts it in the oven for one billion minutes so it turns black. The oven has to be one billion degrees. I take it out of the oven and I put chocolate on it. Then I put more salt on it which is just one salt. I cut it all the way to the meat and bones, one piece for my dad and mom and one piece for my brother and me. Then I just eat my one piece in one bite.
Kimber Blakeman: I will probably get a turkey from Walmart. It will cost $40. We bring the turkey home and open it. Then we put a little bit of seasoning on the turkey. My daddy puts it in the pan and puts it on the stove. We cook it on the stove for probably ten minutes. After we cook it, he puts it on a plate. Then my dad cuts it up. My sister and I set the table. Then we all eat the turkey and have corn, green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy.
Mylie Swaney: I will get my turkey from the garden. I will trap it with a net. Then I will take the feathers off and then cook it. I will put a little bit of butter on the turkey. Then I will put it in the oven at normal temperature. I will cook the turkey for twenty minutes. I will take it out of the oven and let it cool off before I eat it. My mom will cut up the turkey and then we will eat it. We will have chips, oatmeal, and egg bake with the turkey. We will drink pop!
Stellan Lindberg: We will get our turkey in the mountains. My dad will shoot it because he has a gun. I will help my dad cut the feathers off and then we will take it home. My mom will put seasoning on the turkey and cook it in the microwave. No, I mean the oven. The oven should be two-hundred degrees. We will cook the turkey for half an hour. After we cook it we put more seasoning on it. Then we let it cool off. My mom will cut it up and then we eat it.
