Preparing to save lives

Pine Haven EMS and Fire is gearing up by training for possible calls during the winter months. On Monday, November 25, Pine Haven EMS held a CPR training, teaching how to save people's lives.

Around 12 personnel showed up from Pine Haven Fire and EMS to further educate themselves on saving lives.

The goal of the training was to teach firefighters and EMS personnel on what they should do when they arrive at the scene of an accident. Training included scene safety, CPR for adults and infants, choking procedures, oxygen tanks preparation and AED usage.

An upcoming training is going to be focused on ice extraction. With this focus, EMS hopes to be better prepared to save people who have fallen into Keyhole during the ice fishing months.

This training will not start until there is enough ice to ensure the safety of the rescuers.

With winter already upon us, these first responders will be prepared when the time arises.
