No snow, no parking?

Council considers necessity of snow route parking ban when there's no snow on the ground

At last Wednesday's meeting, Councilman Dale Petersen brought up an ongoing issue regarding parking on snow routes when there is no snow. According to Petersen, "I don't like the idea that we're closing all the streets down...when there is no snow forecasted for weeks."

Moorcroft Police Chief Bill Bryant spoke about the simplicity of the enforcement of the current snow route law. According to Byrant, "We have put some warnings on cars".

Warnings have been issued to cars to inform the resident of the law. Chief Bryant also stated that, "this has been by far the easiest to enforce."

Petersen acknowledged that campers and vehicles that cannot be easily moved should not be left on snow routes. However, vehicles used daily should be left to drivers' discretion.

According to Petersen, "there has to be some logic." The council expressed their decision to revisit the matter at a later date.
