What's happening at the Moorcroft Branch Library

Big upgrade in progress! We are very excited to be getting new shelving for the back wall in the Adult Fiction area of the library.

Fiction authors M-S are a little spread out so please feel free to ask library staff for assistance finding the book(s) you are looking for. As part of this change, we will be integrating the westerns in with all the other fiction books.

We are working with local builder Heritage Homes on this project. Dan and his staff have been wonderful and working hard to match the color of our current shelving. The Crook County Library Foundation is funding this much needed upgrade.

The Crook County Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to "encourage and administer donations, memorials and endowments for library buildings, programs and specific needs of the public libraries in Crook County."

Thanks to the Wyoming Libraries Endowment Challenge, our Foundation has a permanent endowment for the benefit of our county libraries. These endowment funds are required by law to be invested for perpetuity -- the principal amount can never be touched, only the interest can be used to benefit the library, an investment into the uncertain future.

The Library Foundation uses private donations and memorials to supplement the basic services provided through county funding. They add the "extras" that make our libraries so special!

The majority of the foundation funds are earmarked for our individual libraries. The foundation has no funds to cover basic expenses for its day-to-day operations (office supplies, fundraising expenses, professional accountant).

Would you please consider making a contribution to the Crook County Library Foundation, which is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization? Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Your gifts can be earmarked in several different ways: donation to a specific project or purchase; to a specific library; to the endowment; or a donation to the foundation to be used wherever needed.

The Foundation meets quarterly rotating between the three Crook County Libraries. Meetings are open to the public and the next one is October 16, at 1 p.m., at the Hulett Branch Library.
