Aug. 19-25

On Aug. 19, an officer was dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. When the officer arrived on the scene, the individual informed them that they were struck by a truck on Interstate 90 while going through the construction zone. The officer informed the individual that the interstate was out of the officer’s jurisdiction and contacted the Highway Patrol for assistance. Nothing further.

On Aug. 19, authorities received a report of someone driving recklessly and speeding past Robinson Park. The person who reported it was concerned about the safety of children in the area and mentioned seeing the car parked at Diehl’s Supermarket. The officer spoke to the juvenile involved and advised them to drive slower through town. Nothing further.

On Aug. 21, officers arrived at Moorcroft ambulance bay to find an individual waiting for assistance with a man he had discovered walking up his driveway, who was very disoriented and confused. The Crook County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as a person who had gone missing the night before. He was taken to the hospital by the Moorcroft Ambulance Service. There is no further information at this time.

On Aug. 22, police received a report to conduct a welfare check on a woman wandering alone. The officer made contact with the individual, who showed no signs of needing assistance. Nothing further.

On Aug. 22, police and the Moorcroft Fire Department were called to The Lodge Hotel for a fire alarm. The kitchen had issues with its hood, which triggered the alarm, but there was no evidence of an actual fire. No further action was taken.

On Aug. 22, officers responded to a report of a dog chasing a juvenile. The officer spoke with the person who reported the incident and learned that the juvenile was walking past a neighbor’s house when one of their pit bulls got out and chased the juvenile. The officer then spoke with the dog owners and informed them that, according to the Town of Moorcroft ordinances, their dogs needed to be licensed and have collars on. The owners said that they would get the dogs licensed. Nothing further.

On Aug. 23, police were called to a home to assist the spouse of an individual who had fallen and needed help getting into their chair. The officers were able to help the spouse. Nothing further.
