The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
Earn, save, spend and budget! Local youth will have the opportunity to learn about financial topics in a way that is both meaningful and fun through a new Moorcroft Branch Library offering.
We have been selected to receive a Thinking Money for Kids Program Kit from the American Library Association (ALA) and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. The program kit is a collection of expertly vetted resources to help libraries teach financial education concepts to children ages three to 12, both in the library and in children’s homes.
The collection includes entertaining and educational games for an interactive experience, including Pet Cents, Making Mooo-lah, Currency Conga and Penny Pinchers’ Party.
Also included are Playaway Launchpads, which are kid-friendly tablets designed to continue learning at home. The Launchpads do not require a home internet connection and will be available for checkout upon completion of Library programming. Games that are preloaded on the Launchpads correspond to the physical games that will be offered at the library events.
Selected through a national application process, we are one of 300 libraries to receive this unique offering. We will be utilizing this program for Storytime and After School Program.
We would also like to offer this program to those that are unable to attend our Wednesday programs. Please complete our Google survey if you are interested so that we can schedule a program that best suits our community at https://forms.gle/Bnji2mAKCSf2TwYL7.
