Pine Haven Days are here

Pine Haven is celebrating their annual Pine Haven Days and everybody's invited!

People are encouraged to bring chairs, sunscreen and something to drink to Pine Haven Road, north of Waters Drive, as the festivities start with a parade on Saturday, August 31, at 11 a.m. This year, the parade's theme is "Wonders of the Lake".

There is always room for another classic car, golf cart or float for anyone interested in being part of the line up, too; they may show up with their entrance at the baseball field on Meadows Drive at 10 a.m. to join the procession.

Immediately after the parade, everyone is welcome to move into Waters Park for lunch. The Pine Haven Recreation Board will be hosting this event with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and lemonade; guests are invited to bring their favorite sides or deserts to share, as well.

An ice cream truck and cake pop vendor will be on hand for that special treat throughout the afternoon. There will also be fun activities for the kids, which include a bouncy house and face painting, while grownups will enjoy the live music until breakdown at 5 p.m.

Those who want to see some vintage vehicles are invited to stop by Randy Blakeman's lot after the parade to enjoy this collection and visit with likeminded enthusiasts.

The celebration ends on Sunday, September 1, with a pancake feed at Waters Park, from 9 to 11 a.m. The Pine Haven Volunteer Fire Department has joined the recreation board to bring this free breakfast of pancakes and sausage, prepared by volunteer firefighters to send everyone off to the rest of their week with full stomachs and sweet smiles.
