Aug. 5-11

On August 8, police conducted a civil standby to serve an eviction notice. No further action was needed.

On August 8, officers were informed by another agency that an individual residing in Moorcroft had an outstanding warrant for their arrest. An officer located the individual and placed them under arrest, and the individual was then transported to the detention center without incident. Nothing further.

On August 8, officers received a call about two deceased deer next to the LDS church. An officer arrived to locate the deer and contacted Game and Fish. Nothing further

On August 8, officers received a call from a concerned parent of a minor who had purchased a dirt bike from another individual. The parent wanted to know if it was legal for a minor to buy a dirt bike without parental consent. The police officer informed the parent that it was not illegal for the minor to purchase without parental consent. The parent was advised that if they wished to take further action, it would need to be addressed in civil court. Nothing further.

Aug. 12-18

On August 13, police were called to Dollar General for a report of a stolen vehicle. The individual stated that she went inside, and her car was gone when she returned. A bystander informed the police that she knew the elderly man who had gotten into the car and driven away. The police were able to locate the man, and the vehicle was returned without incident. Nothing further.

On August 14, officers conducted traffic control for a funeral procession through town.

On August 15, officers received a call to a home where a juvenile was refusing to let their parent leave. The police spoke to both the parent and the juvenile. The parent was able to leave, and the juvenile went back inside. No further action was taken.

On August 15, the police received a call from a business owner requesting that an individual be trespassed from their business and private property. Officers were able to trespass the individual from the business but couldn’t issue the trespass for the private property as it falls under county jurisdiction. Officers reached out to Crook County Sheriff’s Office for assistance. Nothing further.

On August 15, police responded to a report of two juveniles riding their dirt bikes at Noonan Park. The police located the two juveniles and informed them that riding dirt bikes in town was not allowed and that they needed to wear helmets. The juveniles were instructed to walk the dirt bikes outside city limits. No further action was taken at this time.

On August 15, police were given a cell phone that was found behind the post office. The cell phone is being held at the police department for safekeeping. Nothing Further.

On August 15, police received a call from an individual who requested a civil standby retrieving their vehicle from their ex who was using the vehicle without their permission. It was reported that the vehicle was located in Gillette and that the individual would need to contact the Gillette police department. Nothing further.

On August 16, officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash at the Moorcroft Town Center. An individual backed into another vehicle while leaving the gym. There was minimal damage to the vehicle, and both parties agreed to manage the incident themselves. Nothing further.

On August 17, officer conducted a vehicle unlock at the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop.

On August 18, officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash alarm. When the officers arrived on the scene, they did not find anyone who appeared to have been in an accident. Nothing further at this time.
