The unofficial results are in for the 2024 Primary Election and there are few surprises for this year's incumbents.
However, John D. Davis beat incumbent Kelly Dennis to the Republican nomination for county commissioner by 999 votes to 741.
Chip Neiman ran unopposed to retain his State Representative title and received 1610 votes in Crook County.
John Barrasso was Crook County's Republican choice to retain his U.S. Senate seat (1129 votes) over competitors John Holtz (109) and Reid Rasner (547) and, at time of going to press, was looking likely to win the state.
Scott D. Morrow will move ahead on the Democratic side, receiving 44 votes in this county.
Harriet Hageman was similarly successful in retaining the Republican nomination for U.S. Representative, receiving 1572 votes in Crook County over opponent Steven R. Heiling with 208. At press time, she was leading by a similar margin statewide.
Kyle G. Cameron will move to the general election on the Democratic ticket with 45 votes in this county.
Two seats are open this year on each of the councils in Sundance, Moorcroft and Pine Haven. Consequently, all candidates will move forward to the general.
In Sundance, incumbent Joe Wilson took the most votes (217), followed by incumbent Randy Stevenson (147), Kyndell Schell (138) and Richard "Rick" Benavidez (123).
In Moorcroft, two incumbents ran to retain their seats; Heidi Humpal received 97 votes and Dale Petersen, 71 votes. Two write-in candidates could join them on the ballot for the general election.
In Pine Haven, challenger Dustin Heying topped the vote for the four-year seat with 103, followed by incumbent Suzette Edwards with 86 votes.
Incumbent Tom Roberts received 112 votes for the two-year seat. One write-in candidate could join him on the general election ballot.
