Car show brings vintage views to the Tower

The 21st Annual Devils Tower Car Show was held on Saturday, at the KOA Campground at the entrance to Devils Tower. The show is sponsored by the Texas Trail Cruisers Car Club of Moorcroft.

There were 118 entries this year, coming from Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. This year was the first time that the Texas Trail Cruisers Car Club sponsored a food drive and collected monetary donations to assist the Moorcroft Interfaith Community, which partners with the Food Bank of Wyoming and serves Crook County and portions of Campbell and Weston County.

The following vehicles received trophies:

First Place Car: Robert Lewton, 1936 Chevy 3-window coup, Summerset, SD

Second Place Car: Kevin Hilton, 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98, Bowman, ND

First Place Truck: Randy and Rebecca Blakeman, 1948 Ford F-1, Gillette, WY

Second Place Truck: Glenn and Janna Engelhaupt, 1957 Chevy 3100, Sundance, WY

The Long-Distance Award, donated by ATS Drivetrain, went to Owen Pliske with his 1990 Ford Mustang GT from Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

The Matt Driskill Top Gun Award, donated by Ogden and Zannie Driskill, went to Ivan Policky in a 1915 Ford Touring from Upton, WY.

Next year the Devils Tower Car Show will be held Saturday, August 16.
