New deal with Verizon looks to facilitate monitoring for vandalism

Moorcroft and Verizon have come to a mutually beneficial amendment to the company's lease that has been in effect for the last several years.

This new agreement will include the installation of five routers in specific locations around town, "so we can put up cameras and keep an eye out for possible vandalism", according to Councilman Bob Stewart, who advocates this trade of the monthly fee due to the town for this added security provided by Verizon.

According to Mayor Ben Glenn, "It sounds like we'll be able to get internet at all the locations where we need it for the locks. They're going to make an addendum to their current lease and get it back to us at the next meeting."

The mitigated arrangement will take effect after the amended contract is examined by Pat Carpenter, the town's attorney, and subsequently approved by the council. This additional provision will have no adverse effect on the service provided to Moorcroft residents.
