The playground area at Harwood Park is getting close to completion.
A team of volunteers works to install the equipment.
Pine Haven’s Harwood Park has been waiting for the facelift new playground equipment could give for a while and, with the help of 11 community volunteers, the improvements were off to a great start over the weekend.
According to recreation board chair Missy Norton, “We had great weather... We are so grateful for the wonderful people that came and helped out, they were awesome.”
The group enjoyed snacks and dinner at R Place Saturday night and fried chicken for everyone purchased from Paradise Foods after work on Sunday.
“We are not finished with the project,” Norton later stated. “We have it taped off and posted to not use the playground equipment until it is complete. We hope to have it done this week.”
The next endeavor for the board is the quickly approaching Fourth of July party at Waters Park on July 6.
