While the weekend did not end like the team hoped it would, Lady Wolves basketball coach Matthew Albertson says the girls played their hearts out.
“Game one paired us with a strong Douglas team and they did not back down. Douglas is a very athletic group and they have some length, being a somewhat taller team,” he says.
“This caused fits for us, but one of their strengths (full court pressure) the girls handled well for the most part.”
The second game was Newcastle – a familiar foe for the Wolves.
“This team we know very well and it was a four-point game at half time. The third quarter was our nemesis as we only put up five points. The girls battled back in the fourth quarter, but just ran out of time,” he says.
“I am so proud of this group of girls, all of them, the entire team. They have grown so much and I am already looking forward to the off season and into next year.”
