On February 19, police were called to Coffee Cup Fuel Stop in reference to a five-year-old boy who was there unattended. Officer arrived on scene and recognized the child. While speaking with him, his mother arrived on scene. Officer spoke with the child’s mother regarding this incident. Nothing further.
On February 20, police were contacted regarding an unattended death. Officer arrived and spoke with family while waiting for EMS arrival. Officer stayed on scene and assisted County Coroner upon their arrival. Nothing further.
On February 21, police were called to a traffic crash around the 300 block of N. Yellowstone. Officer arrived, took photos of damage to vehicle and filled out a State of Wyoming traffic crash report.
On February 24, police were notified of a vehicle that forced a law enforcement vehicle off the road on Highway 113. Upon hearing the description of the vehicle, officer located a speeding vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle and initiated traffic stop. Driver was cited for speeding, and it was determined that this vehicle was not the one in question for the previous incident.
On February 26, police assisted Gillette Police Department in locating and interviewing a suspect involved in a domestic disturbance.
On February 28, police conducted a traffic stop for expired registration. During the stop, it was determined that the driver had an active Crook County warrant. Officer transported the driver to Crook County Detention Center without incident.
On February 29, police were contacted regarding a hit and run crash that took place in the parking lot of the post office. Officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle on scene and was advised who the driver was that left the scene. Officer contacted the driver who left and issued a citation for hit and run. Nothing further.
On March 1, a traffic stop for speeding led to two children being taken into protective custody, discovery of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in the home.
On March 2, police took a report of theft of tools from a building.
On March 2, police were requested for a civil standby.
On March 2, police provided backup for a Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper on a traffic stop.
