Allen F. Ketterling, "Hoss", was born June 2, 1934, to Sam and Mattie Ketterling in Ekle, Colorado. Due to his mother's health, he was raised by his grandparents, Bert and Vinnie Starling.
He passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the age of 89.
On June 5, 1955, he married Jane Harling and two children were born to this union, Terry and Debra. They later divorced.
In 1960, Al built a pipe laying machine that was used in oil fields where he was foreman at that time. In 1986, he converted the pipe laying machine to a tire cutting machine, which he used at the Campbell County Landfill.
Allen did many jobs in his life: railroad, oilfield, paper factory and plumbing. He was an honest, caring, generous man.
On April 11, 2005, he married Dororthy Neugebauer in Moorcroft, Wyoming. He enjoyed collecting coins and having coffee with his friends and pulling tricks on family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sister, Margie Lacefield, Denver, Colorado; his children, Terry and Debra; his stepchildren, Susan and Jack Clary of Gillette, Wyoming, Mark and Wendy Neugebauer of Pine Haven, Wyoming, Richard and Debbie Neugebauer of Gering, Nebraska, Randall and Lea of Bowie, Maryland and Fred and Mitzie Neugebauer of Gillette; 13 step grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Moorcroft, WY. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 4, 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Moorcroft.
