Girls
Coach Matthew Albertson talks about game six of the season, ringing in the new year.
"This home match-up against the Lady Bobcats from Upton was our fourth time seeing a ranked team in this short season," he says.
According to the coach, Elise Kuhbacher and Jadyn Lubkeman had tough draws, having to defend against two of Upton's bigger players in Sophie Louderback and Bella Keller. Natalee Scribner played her part in defending the guards from Upton.
"The girls played well overall, but we still have a lot more work ahead of us as we continue to gel as a team. They know the expectations were not for us to be playing our best basketball early, or even by mid-season, rather going into the post season," he says.
Final score for the game was Moorcroft - 27, Upton - 58.
Boys
The Wolves Basketball team coach, Nick Redden shared his thoughts on the weekend games against Upton, "Upton's a very well coached team and they played a very in your face defense. We showed up until the fourth quarter and then we flat ran out of gas. I'm out one starter right now and trying to work with five or six guys, but we had some great help from Carter Hatling and Wyatt Fenner."
"They pulled away in the fourth quarter but we got nice and close for that amount of time. The boys literally gave everything they had and they had nothing left. It's not the end of the season yet and we showed them what we're capable of."
Final score for the boys' game was Moorcroft - 47, Upton - 75.
