Team members shone as the season hit its second week, according to Lady Wolves basketball Coach Matt Albertson.
"Our second week of play was an inner-county clash with the Lady Red Devils of Hulett. Kaeley Hutchison started the game off with a nice lay-up to break the ice. This is also her first action of the season, as she was gone last week," he says.
"Remember this group does not have a lot of time playing together, so we are trying to get as many reps as possible leading into the culminating event at the end of the season."
Elise Kuhbacher played well defensively and she is coming back this year after suffering a knee injury in her freshman year, he says. Natalee Scribner is doing some nice things both offensively and defensively; being the only one with significant varsity time, it is nice to have her leadership on the court.
Liberty Cook has been asked to step into some big roles as a starter earlier than Albertson thinks she was expecting, but is learning a lot, which will be nice to have during the postseason.
Lani Gill and London McCrea have helped coming off the bench and as freshman, at a faster pace than what they saw last year, but both of these young ladies have done an exceptional job filling into the various places needed when they are called upon.
"I am so proud of this team and all the hard work they put in thus far. I am very excited for what the Lord has in store for this wonderful group of girls," he says.
Final score for the game was Moorcroft – 28, Hulett – 27.
