One fatality in car accident

On Sunday, November 5, at approximately 3 a.m. a car traveling eastbound on highway 14/16 jumped the southside curb. The Mercury went through a private yard fence before coming to rest against the resistance of the rear deck of the home.

Though present, there were no injuries incurred by the residents. Fire, police and EMS were dispatched to the scene.

Moorcroft Police Chief Bill Bryant is unable to provide further details at this time as the incident is still under investigation. “We don’t have a whole lot of information right now; we’re trying to piece together everything that happened,” he says.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is assisting the Moorcroft Police Department with this investigation.

Bryany explained that the driver, whose name has been withheld as of this report due to notification of family, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was dead at the scene; an autopsy will be performed.
