Moorcroft welcomes you

Moorcroft's first entrance sign on the north end of town has had a facelift. It was erected in 1995 by the Moorcroft Community Development Committee, who decided on the photo of the Moorcroft Depot (CB&Q) and the rock support to preserve and recall the history of the town for future generations.

According to committee member Ruthele Newby, the final draft of the sign was presented by Wilbur Lease of Newcastle. "Then, construction began [and] in 2004, it had a face-lift by Wilber Lease. The Crook County Promotion Board has allocated the lodging tax for this project."

Newby said this is the second time it's been restored by Jeff Freyholtz, who repainted it in October 2023.

She and husband Ken are proud of the newly restored sign, saying, "This sign sends a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike!"
