Sept. 18-24

On September 19, police and DFS conducted a welfare check on an elderly man who needed assistance. EMS transported the man to the hospital to be treated for health conditions. Nothing further.

On September 20, police were called to Moorcroft Elementary School for a juvenile issue. Officer arrived at the school and spoke with staff at the school regarding the situation.

On September 21, police received a call regarding a burglary on North Big Horn. Upon arrival, officer spoke with the victim who stated their neighbor saw a man they did not recognize going through their vehicles and when the victim went to check their belongings, they realized that a gun was stolen from one of the vehicles. Officer spoke with the witness and investigation is continuing.

On September 22, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On September 23, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

Stats: Twenty-three business checks. Twelve traffic warnings. Seven crosswalk/school zone. Burglary. Two assists to other agencies. Fingerprinting. Juvenile issue. Five VIN checks. Welfare check.

Citations: Ten citations for speeding. Two citations for stop sign violation. Two citations for no seatbelt. One citation for passing violation. One citation for no child restraint.

Sept. 25-Oct. 1

On September 26, police were called regarding gunshots being heard around the area of North Big Horn and Goshen. Officers along with Crook County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers searched the surrounding area.

On September 27, police received a report of a battery, a child striking their sibling. Officers arrived at the home and spoke with the parents about the anger issues of the child and options for assistance. Nothing further at this time.

On September 27, police were notified of a small child laying in the road near the intersection of Big Horn and Campbell. Officer went to the child’s home and spoke with the mother of the child about the danger of the child laying in the street. Nothing further.

On September 27, police responded to a possible suicide attempt by a juvenile. Upon arrival, Officer spoke with the parents about the call. Officer then spoke with the child who advised they had taken multiple sleeping pills. EMS arrived and transported the juvenile for medical care. Incident was turned over to EMS and Officer cleared.

On September 27, police observed suspicious activity at the parking lot of the MTC. Officer saw a vehicle parked out of place next to a vehicle that was known to belong to the Health Inspector, State of Wyoming. Officer watched the vehicle leave the parking lot and enter I-90 headed toward Gillette. Officer went to the parking lot and noticed the State vehicle had a liquid and sugar packets poured on it and there were sugar wrappers and coffee stir sticks on the ground near the vehicle. Officer requested Highway Patrol attempt to locate the vehicle and the vehicle was stopped at the Garner Lake exit. Upon speaking with the individuals in the vehicle, they advised they were co-workers of the health inspector and were playing a prank on him. All occupant information was obtained, and officer will contact the victim to confirm they knew the individuals and whether to pursue charges for vandalism.

On September 28, police received a report of a theft from Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officers went to the store and gathered information on the incident. Investigation is continuing.

On September 28, police provided traffic control for Moorcroft Schools Homecoming parade.

On September 29, police conducted a civil standby while a landlord served an eviction notice.

On October 1, police witnessed a vehicle vs. deer crash on Converse Street. Officer contacted the driver of the vehicle involved and collected their information for the crash report. Nothing further.
