The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
The North Eastern Wyoming Walleye Association (NEWWA) changed things up a bit this year by disengaging their event from the Pine Haven Days celebration. There was some concern about the effects of this departure, but, as co-organizer Sharon Coleman said afterward, "This year's fish fry was our biggest one yet!"
NEWWA sold 573 tickets and over 500 guests ate at the picnic. As in previous years, fishing poles and tackle boxes were given out, this year to over 60 kids, all of whom enjoyed the two bounce houses and a dunk tank, as well. The Traeger grill was won by Andy Gabriel.
Due to the efforts of Justin Biesheuvel from Biesheuvel Auction, who mastered the live and silent auctions, this fundraiser raised a worthy sum for the coming year, according to Coleman.
The two bands, Albatross, then Brian McCollum and Jim Traversie, were a hit and thoroughly enjoyed. The day closed at 11:30 p.m. with a tired but contented sigh all around.
