This weekend Moorcroft played in the Gillette Volleyball Tournament. On Friday, Varsity played Spearfish, Cheyenne Central and Kelly Walsh. Although falling short, the girls played with their all and improved their skills from the last tournament.
On Saturday, the girls started off playing Sundance and took it to three sets with Sundance, winning 15-11. After a defeat with Glenrock, they got close with St. Thomas Moore, playing three sets, but unfortunately lost, 12-15.
Junior Varsity started off on Friday morning, playing Spearfish and the Lady Wolves came close with a finishing score of 18-25 in the second set. Falling short to Cheyenne Central and Kelly Walsh, the girls played well as a team and improved so much.
On Saturday, JV played Sundance, Glenrock and St. Thomas Moore, losing to both Glenrock and Sundance, but split the scores with St. Thomas Moore, losing the first set, 25-7. The girls made a comeback, winning the second match, 27-26.
Overall, the Lady Wolves showed great teamwork, determination and skills on the court this weekend. Although falling short, the girls played with heart and kept improving with each set. The Lady Wolves are ready to show what they’ve got in Rawlins next weekend!
