Fair week is officially underway, this year to the theme of "A Brand of Its Own". Events began with entertainment including the youth and ranch rodeo, the ice cream social and animal shows including horses and 4-H dogs.
As the week continues, head down to the fairgrounds this Thursday evening for the Muley Fanatics Family Fun Night or the youth rough stock rodeo, both at 5:30 p.m. These follow the day's animal shows, which include sheep, poultry and rabbits, cats and pocket pets, as well as the fishing derby.
July 28 will begin with the free pancake breakfast cooked by Crook County's elected officials and will also see the beef and wool shows. The day ends with a BBQ for 4-H and FFA exhibitors and a youth dance accompanied by a concert from Tris Munsick.
The grand finale for this year's fair week will be parade day on July 29. Kids can start out with the bike relay, followed by the parade at 10 a.m., the crowning of Crook County Rodeo Royalty at 11:30 a.m., a BBQ for buyers and the community at 3 p.m. and the junior livestock sale at 5 p.m.
