The Moorcroft Elementary Parent Action Committee hosted the annual Science Fair Tuesday, May 9.
A science fair project is one of the best learning experiences a student can undertake because it involves so much more than science; it is a great way for kids to explore their world and how things work. Most projects also involve a good deal of math and all students get an opportunity to enhance their presentation skills when they prepare their display boards and discuss their projects.
The students presented some great projects this year.
The EINSTEIN AWARD was awarded to the Fifth Grade classroom for their Worm Experiment.
The STUDENT CHOICE winners were Mrs. Curr’s 2nd Grade class, who receved First Place for their Color Changing Flowers; 6th Grade students - Brice Duxbury, Kade Farnsworth, Lydia Stephens and Rayanne Decent took home Second Place for their Suspension Bridge project; and Third Place went to First Grade and their Musical Instruments
The winners of the PEOPLE’S CHOICE were Mrs. Curr’s Second Grade class - Color Changing Flowers and Fifth Grade – Worm Experiment tied for First Place; Mrs. McKenzie’s Second Grade class - Plant Needs and Third Grade - Huff and Puff Houses tied for Second Place; and First Grade - Musical Instruments placed third.
Congratulations to all the winners! We are proud of all the students and how hard they worked on their experiments this year!
