Pine Haven clean-up event fills dumpsters to overflowing

Pine Haven orchestrated their annual cleanup day recently, with two construction-size dumpsters made available throughout the weekend for residents to deposit their acceptable waste items.

According to Mayor Karla Brandenburg, "Cleanup Day was obviously successful, with the containers overflowing."

Seeing the speed with which these dumpsters were filled, Brandenburg, recognizing the problem for many neighbors, plans to address the issue with her council to find a solution:

"I know some people didn't get down to the containers before they were full [so] I'll be asking the council to possibly bring back at least one container to help those who missed out. We will also discuss cost of some other options with Victory Sanitation."

This plan, she advised the public, must be a community endeavor.

"All of this will depend on people following the rules of what can be put in the containers," she says.
