On May 1, police received a complaint of students shoplifting from Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. While working to identify the suspects, the students’ parent called and advised one of them had admitted to stealing. All involved were issued a trespass notice and advised to stay off Coffee Cup property.
On May 1, officer accompanied DFS to speak with residents about a possible child abuse complaint. No contact made, will try again.
On May 1, police were notified of an aggressive dog in the 400 block of S. Little Horn. Officer was advised the dog forced a mother to take her children inside due to how aggressive it was acting. Officer spoke with the alleged victim who advised she was not concerned with the dog’s behavior as it was on the other side of the fence and did not attempt to get into her yard. Officer advised her to call if the dog returned acting aggressively.
On May 3, police were called to Coffee Cup Fuel Stop for a report of an attempted suicide. Subject stated they had taken multiple small bottles of Tylenol. Officer contacted the subject while waiting for EMS arrival. EMS transported the subject to the hospital and officer cleared the scene.
On May 3, police assisted a vehicle owner who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain access to the vehicle for the owner.
On May 4, police were called to Moorcroft High School for a student who was caught with an electronic cigarette. Officer responded to the high school and cited the student for Minor in Possession of Tobacco. Nothing further.
On May 4, police gave emergency fund assistance to travelers in need.
On May 5, police were called to a report of a theft at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officer responded to the store and watched security cameras showing the individual stealing two items. Officer contacted the individual and cited them for theft and issued a trespass notice from the Coffee Cup.
On May 5, police were asked to do a welfare check at a residence due to two 911 calls coming from there with no one on the other end. Officer arrived at the residence and spoke with the owner. They stated that they had tried to turn their alarms to silent and if you hit the power button three times it dials 911. They advised there was no issue at the residence and apologized for the accidental 911 calls. Officer cleared.
On May 7, police were requested to do a welfare check at a residence due to the door being wide open. The reporting person was worried about the safety of the residents of the home. Officer arrived and spoke with the homeowner, and all was well with everyone. Officer cleared.
On May 7, police were notified of a missing person. Subject left home approximately 12 or more hours prior to calling the police and had not been seen or heard since. Subject was said to be diabetic and have dementia and family was worried for their health and safety. Officers were able to locate the subject’s vehicle through OnStar. Crook County Deputies were able to stop the subject’s vehicle and contacted them. All was well and they stated they were headed home. Nothing further.
