The Moorcroft Wolves boys' basketball team have made it to Regionals this year and will play against Torrington or Rawlins in the three-seed bracket. As of the time of this report, these two remaining teams had not played due to inclement weather and neither had forfeited.
According to Coach Nick Redden, this third position is good.
"We would have to play some of our best basketball against [number one teams] Douglas or Buffalo; we've held very well with Buffalo before, but it's a mind-set right now, so to go in and not have to face them right away helps a lot," he says.
Redden is proud of the athletes he trains: "As I've told them all season, they have shown how capable they truly are. We have literally played against some of the best competition around and it's been one quarter that's gotten us so if we play four quarters, I guarantee we're going to be very successful... when it comes down to it, we're going to leave a mark and when we walk out of that tournament, we're going to be respected. Whatever place we get, we're going to be respected."
The regional competition for this team of Wolves begins at noon on Thursday, in Casper.
