Town hall move to MTC made official

At this month’s meeting of Moorcroft’s council, the decision was finally reached to move Town Hall into the Moorcroft Town Center (MTC) if the town receives the grant needed to facilitate the preparation of the space.

From the audience, Nancy Feehan and Kari Peterson advocated such a move with three individuals who had written their affirmative vote counted in the poll before the governing body voted.

The conditional grant was later found not to have been awarded to Moorcroft and Clerk/Treasurer Cheryl Schneider stated:

“The move won’t happen until the council identifies [from] where they want to take the funds.”

Councilman Bob Stewart says that he is not sure of where that leaves the move, but the council will discuss the situation again at the March meeting.

The move of town hall to the MTC building has been a question for more than a decade with feasibility studies, residential polls and surveys in the last few years.

This approval of moving forward is the first official action taken in that direction.
