Lady Wolves conquer Big Horn Rams

On Friday, the Lady Wolves welcomed the Doggies from Newcastle to the Wolves' Den. We knew going in that we would have to play solid defense and convert on the offensive end.

The first quarter was a defensive battle and Newcastle held a 10-4 lead. The second quarter was much of the same with the Lady Doggies taking a 24-11 lead into the half.

The second half was all Newcastle as they won the game, 57-30. I thought our defense was good in the first half and we just missed some opportunities in the second half.

Saturday, the Lady Wolves were back at it when they squared off against the Big Horn Lady Rams. Big Horn got off to a good start, but the Wolves responded and took a 38-24 lead into the half.

They were doing some things from a defensive standpoint that we hadn't seen before and it took us some time to adjust. I thought we were able to do that in the second half and got defensive stops.

The Lady Wolves won the game, 69-38. I was proud of how the girls responded following the loss on Friday night. We did some things really well and have a couple of things we need to improve on the defensive end.

The Lady Wolves have a busy week ahead of them when they play at Sundance on Tuesday, at Buffalo on Friday and home against Tongue River on Saturday. Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
