Being better council members

Traveling from Cheyenne, Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM) executive director J. David Fraser accepted Pine Haven Mayor Karla Brandenburg's invitation to attend this month's workshop to provide a training session for newly sworn-in council members Suzette Edwards and Rob Norton, giving both new and established town leaders a crash course in their responsibilities to the town and citizenship.

While this is a new concept for the town's officials, the mayor explained her motivation: "I would love to do this each election to help us operate as the best and most effective council that we can." The class touched on several salient points, but Brandenburg later said the she really appreciated the "need to work as a team and keep everything in perspective".
