Clarification

In last week’s issue, in the article regarding the Knotty Pines subdivision, we quoted a member of the Pine Haven Volunteer Fire Department’s concerns that the person who drew up the site plans 13 years ago is now the head of the agency that approves said plans.

This information was not correct.

According to a spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Quality, the person who drew up the plans is now an employee of the water division and has had no part in reviewing the plans, having placed another engineer in charge of that task to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
