Starting the season out with a win

The boys played four great games against opponents they would not usually see during the season as they took on Arvada, Southeast, Lingle and Douglas. 

The boys beat Arvada the first night, then came up short in the other three games, against very good opponents.  This team is made up of a number of players who have years of experience and some with very little, but they all have great work ethic and no quit. 

Every year is a learning process, especially with a new coach, but there is a lot of continuity with what Coach Merchen had put in the previous year.  Having him with the team has made it a great transition for them, with the players continuing to grow from last year. 

I saw a lot of promise this last weekend, with players having to adapt to many different styles of play, and doing very well.  I am excited for the rest of the season, and what this team is capable of.
