Wolves depart this year's court proud

The Lady Wolves battled hard at regionals. They first saw #3 Douglas and fell short in five sets with the scores of Douglas 3 Moorcroft 2 (25-17, 25-23, 15-25, 22-25, 25-7).

We played great volleyball against Douglas. We had a slow start, but stepped up and played great defense.

We worked together and played as a team. It was a close match and it was great to see the girls step up and play hard.

The next day, we saw Torrington and got the sweep in three sets, winning Moorcroft 3 Torrington 0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-22). It felt good to play together and click on the court for a win at the regional tournament. We played our game, communicated and stayed consistent at the net.

Last, we saw Newcastle and lost with the scores of Newcastle 3 Moorcroft 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-15). We did not have our best match against Newcastle.

We have played them several times this season so we had an idea of what to prepare for going in. We did not stay consistent with our passing and attacking at the net and made too many errors on our end.

Overall, we had a great season. We wanted to place in the top four at the regional tournament, but that doesn't take away all of our success throughout the year.

We played up a class moving up to the 3A level this year and we were not sure what to expect, but we wanted to make to our mark as a team. Our goal was to show up and compete every day against bigger schools and that is what we did. We had some huge improvements throughout the year and we worked hard as a team.

We ended the season 16-15 overall. I am very proud of our efforts all season, and to have a winning season up at the 3A level was a huge accomplishment as a team.
