Moorcroft's public works crewmen have taken the east fencing down at the Moorcroft Cemetery and mowed the newly acquired area before the new fencing is laid. Public Works Director Cory Allison has acquired two bids for the installation and the company to be hired will be determined at the first Wednesday night meeting of council, November 9.
This widening out of the perimeter fence is the next step in the expansion of the cemetery, a project the council has worked on for several years. With the land trade between the town and the Robinson Ranch complete, the municipal grav yard has grown by about 13 acres to the east with access to town utilities through that piece of ranchland.
Mayor Ben Glenn previously stated the expansion should almost triple cemetery space.
