Cross country team heading to state

It's been a busy season for the cross country team. On September 16, the Wolves attended the Michelle Ludwig Invite in Sheridan.

In the varsity boys race, Marcus James ran an impressive 5K with the time of 18:28.40. In the varsity girls race, Mallory Jones earned fifth place with the time of 20:16.79.

Katelynn Blakeman ran the 5K in 26:46.40 and Lilly Barnum ran a 33.27.28. In the junior high boys 3K, Mikhail Reich finished 12th out of 110 runners in 11:52.10 and Ethan Walker finished 37th in 12:55.25.  In the girls 3K, Carlee Roth finished 11th out of 101 runners with the time of 12:29.11, and Morning Barnum finished 66th with a 15:30.91.

On September 30, the Wolves attended the Brittany Rentas Memorial in Wright. In the middle school races, Mikhail took 5th out of 31 runners with a 12:25.46 and Ethan took 8th with a 13:10.40.   

Carlee finished 12th out of 37 runners with 14:23.58, and Morning finished 27th 17:10.00. 

In the varsity races, Marcus took first place with the time of 18:47.63. Katelynn finished 11th with a 27:49.07 and Lilly finished 17th with a 35:23.93.

On October 7, the Wolves attended the Casper Glen Legler Invite. In the girls middle school race, Carlee got 10th out of 53 runners with the time of 10:38.23 and Morning finished 13:13.07.

In the boys middle school race, Mikhail took 8th out of 81 runners with the time of 9:48.00 and Ethan took 10th place with the time of 9:51.85. In the varsity girls race, Mallory finished 6th out of 50 runners with the time of 20:57.45 and Lilly Barnum finished with 29:16.84. Marcus placed 14th out of 68 runners with the time of 18:39.18.

On October 14, the Wolves traveled to Dayton for the 1A/2A Powder River Conference Championship/Middle School Districts. There were 18 middle school boys running and Mikhail earned third place with the time of 13:34. 

Ethan earned 6th place with the time of 14:33, earning them MS All-Conference honors. 

In the middle school girls race, there were 37 runners. Carlee earned 3rd place, earning MS All-Conference honors. Morning finished 28th with the time of 20:23. 

In the varsity boys race, 29 runners vied for the top spots. Marcus got 2nd place with the time of 17:58, earning him Conference Runner-Up and All-Conference honors. 

Marcus was able to break into the 17s despite running a windy race. 

The varsity girls race had 19 runners. Mallory took the top spot and won All-Conference Champion honors with the time of 20:59, Katelynn earned All-Conference honors with her 9th place finish with the time of 25:16, and Lilly finished 17th with the time of 29:27.

On October 22, the Varsity Wolves will head to Ethete for the 2022 State Cross Country Championship.
