Moorcroft Police Report

On October 4, police provided traffic control for a funeral procession.

On October 4, police were contacted regarding stolen property. Report of the theft was taken and a few days later the complainant advised that the property had been located and was not stolen.

On October 7, police gave emergency fund assistance to a traveler in need.

On October 8, police were called for a report of shots fired in the area of North Belle Fourche Ave. Officer searched the area and spoke with residents regarding the report. Officer was unable to locate anyone acting in distress and there was no obvious evidence of gun shots. Some residents stated they assumed it was a larger caliber outside of town due to hunting season. After patrolling every street and alley between Little Horn and Big Horn, officer cleared.

On October 8, police assisted Crook County Sheriff’s Deputy on a Warrant arrest.

On October 8, police were asked to do a welfare check on a possible suicidal subject. Subject was found at Moorcroft Rest Area and transported to Campbell County Hospital by Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

On October 9, police received a REDDI report and officer located the vehicle coming into town from Highway 14. The suspect vehicle then turned onto Weston Street, running into a parked vehicle. Driver was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence and transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.
