Aug. 29-Sept. 11

Thirty business checks. Twenty-nine traffic warnings. Disturbance call. False alarm. Four house watches. Three vehicle unlocks. Emergency fund. Suspicious activity. Sexual assault of a minor. Eight public services. Five VIN checks. REDDI report. Four assists to other agencies. Fourteen crosswalk/school zone. Six garbage can violations. Two animal issues. Two fingerprintings. Nuisance violation. Motorist assist. Two traffic crashes. Welfare check. Traffic complaint.

Between Aug. 29 and Sept. 2, the Police Department conducted ten “mock interviews” for Moorcroft Secondary Seniors for their English class.

On Aug. 29, police received a report of a dog bite, that did not break skin. Officer spoke with the victim who did not want anything done other than speaking with the owners about the incident. Officer then spoke with the owner who had witnessed the incident and stated that the dog would be kenneled after the incident. Nothing further.

On Aug. 30, police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the Moorcroft Secondary parking lot. Officer met with drivers of both vehicles and vehicle insurance was exchanged.

On Aug. 31, police were contacted regarding a vehicle that was broken into and damaged. Officer met with the owner and took report of the damage.

On Aug. 31, police were contacted regarding a group of high school aged children sitting outside of Subway being loud and causing a scene. Upon officer’s arrival, there was no one in the parking lot. Officer was able to make contact with the individuals at the Coffee Cup and they advised they would stay at Coffee Cup and would not cause any trouble. Nothing further.

On Aug. 31, police received a REDDI report called in by Gillette Police Department. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

On Sept. 1, police were called regarding an animal bite victim. Officer located the victim who had been bitten at the Moorcroft Clinic. Owner of the animal had taken the victim to the clinic for medical care. Officer spoke with the owner of the animal who was cited for Vicious Animal and Dog at Large.

On Sept. 1, officer assisted Campbell County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to locate the owner of a vehicle that was left in the ditch on I-90 near Gillette.

On Sept. 1, police responded to a two-vehicle collision at Moorcroft Post Office. No injuries reported.

On Sept. 2, police were called to a disturbance at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Reporting party stated a man was talking very loudly and making obscene and disturbing comments. Officer spoke to the man regarding the complaint, and he left the business without incident.

On Sept. 3, police were called to Coffee Cup Fuel Stop to assist someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle.

On Sept. 3, police spoke with a driver who’s license plate did not match the vehicle that they were driving. Officer advised to have the registration corrected on the vehicle.

On Sept. 6, police gave Emergency Fund assistance to a traveler in need.

On Sept. 6, police were called to Moorcroft Family Dental to assist someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle.

On Sept. 6, police were contacted regarding a welfare check on a resident. Officer was able to contact the resident and all was fine.

On Sept. 6, police assisted a motorist who was having a vehicle issue.

On Sept. 7, police were called regarding a fire alarm at the Public Safety Building. Only testing alarm, nothing further.

On Sept. 9, police were contacted regarding a possible sexual assault of a minor. Investigation is continuing.

On Sept. 10, police assisted Moorcroft Fire Department by doing traffic control during a structure fire on Yellowstone Ave.

On Sept. 11, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on a medical call.

On Sept. 11, police assisted Campbell County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to locate a vehicle whose driver was involved in a domestic in Campbell County. Officer was unable to locate suspect vehicle.
