Delayed, not abandoned

Pine Haven’s town council plans to apply for a Business Ready Grant in the new year to enable the town to build the infrastructure for a business park and subsequent fire hall. According to Mayor Karla Brandenburg, along with this main funding they are actively seeking “other avenues for grants for this project”.

The Wyoming Business Council’s Business Ready Grant has specific prerequisites, though, one of which is the donation of the land that will hold the infrastructure and on which the structures are to be built. The present land owners met with the council some time ago and all agreed to said endowment; however, that anticipated acquisition from the Keyhole Ranch has been stymied for the last several months.

“At this time, the property is in probate so [the bequest] cannot happen,” the mayor explains the situation at this time. “We thought this would be resolved by now, but it is looking like it will be after the first of the year before that is resolved.”

The existing fire station is adjoining the Town Hall and has outgrown the space, as has the council chambers within the hall. This new establishment, when completed, will benefit town citizens with a more comprehensive situated firefighting facility with an emergency shelter and an expanded area for business growth.

“This project is not cancelled but delayed, we are all looking forward to starting this project. Our plan, right now, [is that] when the Business Grant or any grant for this project is approved, we will be recruiting a boat/recreational vehicle sales and repair shop to use one of the lots in the business ready area.” Brandenburg assures Pine Haven residents.
