Hail of a wait

Lowe's Roofing has been removing the old damaged cover material on the southeast section of the MTC throughout this week as they began the process of replacing that part of the roof. According to Public Works Director Cory Allison, the operation should take approximately three weeks.

Moorcroft has only recently received the insurance money for the hail damage incurred a number of years ago and the town has had to fight for the amount given because the town's insurance provider, Wyoming Association of Risk Management (WARM), was not, at first, going to cover the damage to any significant degree.

Allison said, "We're still fighting them [and] they didn't give us all the money we should've gotten, anyway."

The council accepted Love's bid for the job about a month ago for roughly the same amount provided by WARM, Allison reported.

While this partial replacement is a boon for the MTC, Allison is thinking about the rest of the building's covering, saying, "There are other parts...needing to be done; we just don't have the money to do it."
