Wolves struggle against cats

On Tuesday, the Wolves Boys Basketball team hosted the #1 ranked Upton Bobcats. In the first quarter, the Bobcats jumped out on top, 23-7.

At half time, the Bobcats extended their lead to 37-9. We just didn’t handle their pressure well. We struggled finding good shots offensively and didn’t play well.

In the second half, it was much of the same as the Bobcats went on to win this contest, 69-25. We just never could get it going offensively and we really struggled in all phases.

On Saturday, the Wolves traveled to Lusk to take on the Tigers. After the first quarter, the Tigers took a 19-11 lead.

We played better defensively in the second quarter and closed the gap to 30-25 at halftime. We came out and played well offensively in the third quarter and tied the game going into the fourth quarter at 42-42.

The fourth quarter was back and forth and Lusk took a 57-56 lead with four seconds left. We got a nice open look at the basket, but unfortunately it didn’t fall and Lusk prevailed, 57-56.

The boys will be back in action on Friday when we host the Big Horn Rams in a conference game and then Saturday when we host the Wright Panthers in another conference game.
