The Wolves wrestling team had a busy weekend last week. They started on Thursday, at home, dualling Campbell County and recognizing the seven senior wrestlers and managers. Then, on Friday, they headed over the mountain to Lovell to wrestle three duals against Shoshoni, Tongue River and Lovell and wrestled in the Greybull tournament on Saturday.
Moorcroft vs. Campbell County- 43-25
Thursday, they won the dual against Campbell County with junior varsity starting at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity at 6:30 p.m. They also recognized their seven senior wrestlers and managers.
Randy Peters, the son of Katie Painter; Jacob Anderson, son of Hilari and Josh Anderson; Sterling Norris, son of Sheena and Damien Gellner; Kevin Stone, son of April Stanton and Scott Stone; Layla Elliott, daughter of Kandi and David Elliott; Lynsey Gray, daughter of Katie and Gavin Gray; and Kaylee Terry, daughter of Krista and Shawn Terry.
In Lovell, the Wolves wrestled three duals and came away with three wins.

On Saturday, the team traveled to Greybull to wrestle in the Greybull Memorial Invitational. As a team, they placed second out of thirteen teams, had one champion and many placers. Individual results were as follows.

Rebekah Anderson went 2-2, winning both her matches with pins, and did not place. Kade Haynes went 1-2, winning his first match with a pin in 2:38. Dayne Humes went 4-0, winning all his matches with pins to place first. Weston Haskell, 1-2, won his match with a pin, but did not place.

Braydnn Terry went 3-1, making his way into the championship match, where he lost by fall to place second. Cade Williams, 2-2, won his matches by pin and decision, 7-6, making it to the third round of consolations before going out and did not place. Cole Cantu, 1-2, did not place.

Shane Hannah, 3-1, lost in the quarterfinals and wrestled his way back to the consolation semifinals, where he lost by fall to not place. Trenten Gray, 2-2, won his first match by pin, lost in the quarterfinals, won his round two with a pin and lost in round three to not place. Wyatt Cook, 3-2, made his way into the semifinals, where he lost by decision, 8-6, moving him into the consolation semifinals, where he won by pin to move into the placings, where he lost to place fourth.

Wyatt Pennington, 5-1, lost his first match and wrestled his way back into the placings. He won his consolation round two by major decision, 13-0, round three by decision, 10-4, to move him into the consolation semifinals, where he won by decision, 4-2, to put him in the placings. There, he won to place third.

Richie Allison went 1-2, winning his match by pin, but did not place. Tucker Cook, 1-2, did not place. Trenton Sheehan went 4-1, winning his first match by decision, 6-3, his second match by pin in 3:32 to move into the semifinals. There, he lost by decision, 8-5, to go into the consolation semifinals, where he won by pin to go into the placings. There, he won by decision, 2-0, to place third.

Dakota Tobin, 4-2, won his first round with a pin in 0:33, lost in the quarterfinals and wrestled his way back through to the placing rounds, winning with all pins in 2:22, 0:30 and 4:46 to put him into the placing, where he did not get to wrestle his placing match due to the five matches a day rule, having to forfeit it to place fourth. Marcus James, 1-2 and did not place.

Spencer Cuthrell, 1-2, winning his first round with a pin in 0:47, but did not place. Jacob Anderson went 5-1, winning his first round with a pin in 2:26, lost in the quarterfinals and wrestled his way back to the placings, winning all his matches by pins and placing third.

James Long went 2-2, winning his first two rounds with a pin and by decision, 4-3. He lost in the semifinals and in the consolation semifinals to not place. Dima Haskell, 1-2 and did not place.

Oliver Gorsuch went 4-1, winning his first round with a pin in 3:27, won his second match by pin in 0:58 to put him into the semifinals. There, he lost to move him into the consolation semifinals, where he won by pin in 1:46 to put him into the placings, where he won by pin to place third.

Craig Robinson went 3-1, winning his quarterfinals matches by major decision, 19-6 and his semifinals match by decision, 11-5 to put him in the championship match, where he lost by decision, 21-18 to place second.

Kaden Hissong went 2-0, winning both his matches by pin to place first.
Girls 138-152
Lynsey Gray went 1-1, winning her first match by pin in 0:21 and losing in round three to place second.
The team came home with one champion, Dayne Humes, and many placers. They placed second with 159 points under first place Cody and over third place Powell.
High Scorers for the Wolves were Dayne Humes with 28 points followed by Jacob Anderson with 22 and Braydnn Terry with 21 team points. Individual stats for the tournament as a whole, Jacob Anderson placed first with the most pins in the least amount of time with four pins in 4:33, Dayne Humes placed first for having the most team points with 28 and Craig Robinson placed second and third for having the most single match points with 19 and 18.
Up next for the Wolves wrestling team is the Powder River Conference Duals this Thursday, February 10, in Hulett starting at 1 p.m. There, they will have five duals against, Sundance, Glenrock, Hulett, Wright and Tongue River.
