Local Wyo Help case manager Elise Hanslip presented a check for $500 to the staff of the Moorcroft Branch Public Library last Thursday afternoon as part of the Hunger Initiative Program in cooperation with Wyo Help.
This grant is to be distributed throughout the Crook County library system to provide snacks for children during pre-K story hour (10-11 a.m. on Wednesdays), after-school craft time (4-5 p.m.), the summer reading program barbecue and more, according to librarian Heather Reynolds.
Kyle Borger of Wyo Help later explained the process by which the library received the funding.
"The $500 was a grant from the Hunger Initiative provided by Albertsons Grocery to provide breakfast food for children. WYO HELP sought out possible entities by using our staff in each county, the library was brought to our attention and we submitted a grant request on their behalf," he said.
"The process was then to simply give a brief explanation of what the funds would be used for. WYO HELP received the funds and passed them through to the requesting entities We were able to secure four grants for communities we serve."
